A B Shaik first joined the radio industry as a Ria 897 deejay in June 1991. Today, he embarks his radio journey as a Warna 942’s personality. For more than 20 years, Shaik has been the resident voice-over talent for hundreds of TV and radio commercials, trailers as well as TV documentaries.

Shaik has also performed in several Malay theatre productions at Victoria Theatre and Kallang Theatre. The versatile deejay also hosted and acted in many local TV programmes such as Anugerah Planet Muzik (APM) and Te:Ra Seh!. Shaik has a strong pool of ardent fans and followers. Often, he is the choice as a personality to accompany sponsored trips organised by travel agencies. Certainly, the campaign for these travel agencies pays off as sign-ups have always been favourable.

Being effectively bilingual in English and Malay and having a flair for Hindi and Arabic, Shaik has hosted many events as an emcee for corporate and company functions, concerts, product launches, birthday parties and many more. Some of the formal events where Shaik has taken up the role of Master of Ceremony include those graced by the President of Singapore, Prime Minister, Minister and top ranked Government Officials and MPs as Guests of Honour. Shaik has also hosted more than 4,000 weddings since 1986. Occasionally, he receives invitations to host events held overseas as far as Malaysia and Dubai.

Shaik also has won the hearts of Warna listeners. He was voted and awarded Warna’s Most Popular Radio Personality in 2007. Shaik also won the Personality of The Year 2007 & 2010 – Media’s Choice. This award was judged by members of the media.
